for everyone
Category:Movies
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Wrap a romantic comedy around a baseball season and you've got the perfect formula for a date-flick and that's what Fever Pitch is. This movie is a love story. The love between Jimmy Fallon's character and the Boston Red Sox. When the baseball-obsessed teacher and the successful work-a-holic mathematician played by Drew Barrymore start dating, a fun but conflicted relationship ensues.

The story pretty much surrounds the Red Sox historic 2004 baseball season, and there are lots of scenes filmed inside Fenway Park. As opposed to other sports movies that often just splice in recorded t.v. footage, they actually had video cameras roaming inside the stadium. As a baseball fan I appreciated the unique perspective. If you're a Red Sox fan add a star, but any sports fan will like the film.

When leaving the movie my wife actually said to me "The movie made me feel like buying some Mets tickets." Maybe I should add a star.

Drew Barrymore as a mathematician??? Let us know if she was convincing.

Its funny, Brian and I were watching the final game of the World Series last year, and after they won and stormed the field, I had to Tivo back a couple of times, and point out to him, "Look, isn't that Jimmy Fallon kissing someone on the field??". I then looked into it and learned they were filming a movie. They got some amazing access for that.

Actually, I was going to write that she really wasn't too convincing as a mathematician, but she's got the female-lead-in-a-light-romatic-comedy role down pat. Likewise Jimmy Fallon wasn't too convincing when he needed to deliver straight, serious lines, but that didn't matter too much.

Absolutely. That is what I was writing about. The in-the-stands and on-the-field footage more than made up for any realism lost with Barrymore playing a scientist.
